These three ingredients are perhaps one of the more common foodstuffs that people tend to associate in improving your singing. Well, I’m here to clarify these old wives tales by going into detail how these ingredients truly work.
These ingredients are all remedies for people with sore throat or if you are having a hoarse voice. Other than that, it doesn’t have magical properties (that I know of) that make your voice better. Mixing them up and drinking them if your voice is okay can result in other effects than intended.
Lemon for one thing has acidic properties that can slightly burn the linings of your throat if you use too much of it. On the upside, they work well if you are under the weather and feeling the ills of a sore throat as they help unclog the excess production mucus caused by a cold or flu.
Honey on the other hand has a soothing quality to it. Adding it to a warm glass of water can definitely still the effects of a sore or dry throat. It’s a popular additive to herbal tea drinks due to the fact it can sooth your throat to make you sing better.
The last one is of course, water. Without the lemon or honey additives, this one pretty much works well by itself. Hydration for one thing is an important bodily process that is not limited to curing your sinuses or throat. Drinking at least 8 glasses a day is a good thing for your health as well as your vocal chords.
On an end note, make sure you recuperate well by resting and not straining yourself beyond your limit. Take care of your body, and it will help you harness your vocal potential!
